If they win, they would stand the chance of keeping the pressure on Chelsea in the run for the Premier League top four as they take on Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park on Thursday evening.
The red devils missed the chance to leapfrog Leicester city and Chelsea side into third place following the 2 points they dropped in the draw against the Saints.
Also, with the news that their Manchester rival, Manchester City have won the appeal against a two-year ban from European football (UEFA champions league), Solskjaer’s side must do a great job as they face Crystal Palace on the road.
Their (red devils) fifth position cannot earn them a place in Europe’s top competition as far as the Champions League is concerned.
As Manchester United takes on Chelsea in the semi-final at the weekend, it promises to be a tough time for Solskjaer in the managerial hot seat.
